What does Christmas mean to you? Eggnog? Family? Trying to finagle your office crush under the Holiday Party mistletoe?
Well, for me, and to many sports fans, it means some top notch NBA action.
The league has been airing Christmas Day games for the past 65 years, and on this December 25, they’ll be introducing festive uniforms to go along with the special day. The initiative is all part of their new “BIG Color” campaign. The unis are simple, but cool—flooding the teams’ visiting/home colors throughout, with names and numbers in a bold, transparent script.
Fans can watch players don the holiday garb throughout the day—Celtics-Nets starts at 12 p.m., Knicks-Lakers is at 3 p.m., Thunder-Heat tips off at 5:30 p.m., Rockets-Bulls begins at 8 p.m. and the Nuggets-Clippers will finish off the night at 10:30 p.m.
Can’t wait that long to see the colorful new uniforms? Here’s a clip of the Lakers' Dwight Howard, Heat’s Dwyane Wade, Knicks' Carmelo Anthony, Thunder’s Russell Westbrook and Nets' Joe Johnson bouncing some basketballs to they rhythm of “Carol of the Bells” while sporting the holiday threads. Look at that focus. Look at that intensity. Wonder how many takes it took?
Starting Nov. 21, this “BIG Color” ad will run on NBA.com, NBA social media, and on broadcast partners ABC, ESPN, NBA TV, and TNT. And the “BIG” Color jerseys are available now on NBAStore.com and at the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
