Luanda — The opposition People's Party for Development (PAPOD) has pledged to intensify fighting against HIV/AIDS virus countrywide, should it win the country's elections scheduled for forthcoming August 31.
The pledge comes from the national secretary of PAPOD while speaking to Angop on the topic HIV/AIDS.
Stressing the HIV/AIDS combat, the official said that the disease affects mainly women in the provinces of Luanda, Cabinda, Benguela, Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul.
Quoting the statistics data released recently by UNAIDS, the national secretary of PAPOD points out that the infection rate among women is twice higher than that of men.
On the other hand, the party will also promote literacy campaign, mainly within vendors, as well as reinforce fighting against domestic violence.
